I love this book stayed up most of the night reading it Catherine in the Wind is the poignant story of a woman with Asperger s Syndrome who finds the love of her life, but isn t quite certain that she is the love of his The very qualities that Catherine s family finds frustrating and that Catherine believes caused her previous attempts at relationships to fail, seem to be the qualities that endear her to Wes But after the first idyllic weeks of their romance settle into aordinary rout I love this book stayed up most of the night reading it Catherine in the Wind is the poignant story of a woman with Asperger s Syndrome who finds the love of her life, but isn t quite certain that she is the love of his The very qualities that Catherine s family finds frustrating and that Catherine believes caused her previous attempts at relationships to fail, seem to be the qualities that endear her to Wes But after the first idyllic weeks of their romance settle into aordinary routine, Catherine wonders if Wes has really gotten over Meredith, the woman who once broke his heart, and with whom he still seems to share a connection that Catherine doesn t understand Will Wes ever truly be happy with the woman who fits into his life so perfectly, or does he still dream of the woman who challenged him at every turn and, ultimately, married someone else Catherine and Meredith could not bedifferent Catherine is serene and content to let Wes take control of the relationship Meredith is determined and at least to Wes unpredictable But for all her apparent malleability, Catherine at heart is incredibly strong and will not be anyone s second choice But even as she questions Wes continuing friendship with Meredith, Catherine questions her own perception of what s going on Amanda Gale s unique storytelling ability weaves these two women s lives together Had I not already read the connected Meredith series of novels, I would have been prepared to dislike this other woman who, for the first third of the book, is seen only through Catherine s eyes But Meredith has her own story to tell, and her own answers to discover as she balances a difficult personal and professional relationship with her dying father, and unexpected bumps in the road of her new life with her husband and child This is the kind of book you want to curl up with on the couch on a rainy day and not move until you ve read it cover to cover But I guarantee the characters will stay with you long after you ve read the last page And with characters so nuanced and wonderfully drawn, it s a book I already know I ll come back to and reread again and again Although this book is connected to the Meredith series and reading that series gives you a deeper appreciation of several characters , it is also excellent as a stand alone novel I give it my highest recommendation (((DOWNLOAD))) ☠ Catherine and the Wind ☙ Catherine Sheering has found the man of her dreams in rising political star Wes Bickhart The problem is, Wes Bickhart has a past, in the form of Meredith Kelly, the woman he almost married and who remains an important part of his life Catherine has her own reasons for questioning Wes s continued friendship with Meredith as a person on the autism spectrum, Catherine has misread signals before And though she desperately loves him, part of her wonders if she should retreat to her quiet life rather than risk being hurt again After years of personal struggles of her own, Meredith Kelly thought her life was finally perfect, with a wonderful, adoring husband and a growing family But when her dying father, a famously irascible journalist and political kingmaker, requests her help drafting his memoir, she is brought face to face with their difficult relationship and with their family s haunted past As his demands become troubling, her life grows chaotic and the one person who can help her is her politically ambitious ex, Wes BickhartNow both women are put to the test as they balance their seemingly idyllic lives with their mutual uncertainty about where Wes s heart really liesEasily read as a standalone novel or as an extension of Amanda Gale s Meredith series, Catherine and the Wind is a tale of human frailty and fear, of growth and redemption, of the bonds between women and of the sacrifices we make for the people we love most I ve been anticipating the release of a Meredith Series sequel for a while and I must say, Author Amanda Gale has outdone herself with Catherine and the Wind It was wonderful to be reacquainted with beloved characters and follow along on Catherine s emotional journey like I did with Meredith s What I really enjoyed was how Catherine and Meredith s lives intertwined, Wes Bickhart the link connecting them.Catherine, like how Catherine and Meredith s lives intertwined, Wes Bickhart the link connecting them.Catherine, like Meredith, is a rich and colorful character She s neurodiverse, on the autism spectrum, with personality and behavior traits that I found incredibly intriguing She struggles in social situations, often fluttering her eyelashes when she s nervous, and she sometimes misreads signals, causing her to doubt her best judgement Her Asperger s made her all thecharming I loved how she compared colors to her emotions Her vintage dresses and old fashioned ideals were quirky and fun I enjoyed seeing the world through her eyes. This story is broken in three parts Part one features Catherine s pov, part two features Meredith s, and part three is told between them both I loved how this was organized and was pleased with the way it wrapped up.While Catherine and the Wind tackles heavy issues, it also uplifts, inspires, and is even sometimes humorous like when Meredith s needy father calls at the most inopportune moment possible Despite this novel being lengthy, I breezed through it There was literally never a dull moment From several major life events between the families of both women, losses, and even reunions, Catherine and the Wind isn t short on anything She knew he loved her But did he love another womanWas he settling for her because his first choice was out of reach, telling himself he was happy but wishing she were somebody else Highly recommended to fans of Amanda Gale s Meredith series, but can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone.Full Book Review Catherine one, well written novella ready for the small screen I will cut to the chase Wes does know what he wants in a woman, and the ladies of the family know best It takes Wes to go through a deadly event to realize what he has is best.CATHERINE and the WIND is a pleasant long read into the way people interface and the way Catherine overcomes her battle with a little know mental affliction Meredith, on the other hand, is an active player who overcomes family adversities. If they don t meet again in the second book in this series, it is a crime I enjoyed the tit for tat Another beautiful book by Amanda Gale I loved the way Catherine and Meredith s lives wove together as each story reached its own conclusion I already wantedof Meredith and Nick, but Catherine was a delight I loved her way of seeing the world and her passion for her chocolate making and 1930s suits I also really enjoyed seeing how Wes had grown since we first meet him in the Meredith series The last section with Meredith struggling through writing the book about her dying father s life Another beautiful book by Amanda Gale I loved the way Catherine and Meredith s lives wove together as each story reached its own
