know for sure is getting her own book. That all being said, what really annoyed and disappointed me with this book from the start is that the book was written in first person and ONLY in Beth s perspective WTF I could live with the shift from third person to first person Vulnerable was written in third person, and alternated between Beth and Shane s POV , but why write the entire book in Beth s perspective I wanted to be able to get into Shane s mind, especially with how he started acting all aloof in the beginning and getting evenalpha on her throughout the book I just don t get it.While I am all for sex, lots of sex, I felt that in this book, the author almost used it as a crutch Beth would get irritated or mad or finally stand up for herself, Shane would get mad back but instead of resolving anything, they would jump right into bed It got a bit annoying It made the book drag out In fact, I seriously almost feel like this book didn t need to happen I think things could have been resolved in Vulnerable. So I give this one only 3 stars However, I do like the author s writing style well, I prefer her to go back to alternating POV between H h and I look forward to checking out Shane s sister s book This starts where Vulnerable ends and even though Beth s abductor is still at large, I feel this isa story about Beths personal growth as an individual and as part of a couple It isabout relationships than action That s not bad, it s just different My only problem with the book is there is too much explanation and re hashing of past events It detracts from the story a little I think it should be assumed that we ve all read book 1 Still great tho, and there are so many great po This starts where Vulnerable ends and even though Beth s abductor is still at possibilities of future books 4 1 2 stars This one was less captivating than the first I think it was mainly because it was so repetitive Same arguments, same sex scenes, same wording, same situations all run throughout the novel There were some things that repeated that seemed as though the author forgot she included either in the first novel or earlier in this one Editors should have caught these mistakes Also, I m not a fan of all the men in Beth s life not allowing her to learn how to protect herself They seem to have some This one was less captivating than the first I think it was mainly herself They seem to have some sick need her to keep her helpless when allowing her to defend herself would be therapeutically empowering to her She, again, doesn t get the therapy she so desperately needs to heal, furthering my theory about everyone preferring her helpless It makes for a twisted relationship between her and Shane and the one between her and her brother The unresolved issue in the first book becomes a background plot point in this one and ends rather anticlimacticly The whole focus of the first book and her need to be protected is almost an afterthought here Once that s over, the ending of the book happens too quickly That said, I do eagerly await Lia s book Hopefully it will allow glimpses into the lives of characters in these novels, especially Cooper
