her and to be honest, no one else wants to hire her at seven months pregnant Norah and Lani become good friends, despite her grumpy misdemeanour at times However, the most interesting development is her relationship with Kai He is broody and quite a grumpy arse but there is a simmering attraction between them brewing away Norah is incredibly hormonal at the moment so this tall, muscly, tattooed man is pushing all her buttons and she is overwhelmed with dirty thoughts every time she is around him.Kai should not be looking at, let alone thinking about a woman pregnant with another man s child but he would have to be blind to not notice just how beautiful Norah is There is also the fact that he has a bit of a shady past and knows that he is simply not good enough for her, she deserves to be with someone better anyway.Norah has some big decisions to make and some of them will be heartbreakingly hard but after going through a lot in her young life so far she knows what she wants and what she has to do to get there [[ DOWNLOAD PDF ]] ↡ Under Your Skin ✐ Blood Is Thicker Than Ink Norah O Malley has been alone for a long time It s been ten years since her father and four brothers shipped her off to be raised by her aunt Seven months since she s seen the guy who got her pregnant who still doesn t know And it s two weeks since she came home to Chicago and discovered none of her family wants to talk or listen She never expected to walk into a tattoo shop seven months pregnant and get her socks knocked off by instant attraction She can t even see her socks But Kai Ellis is big and gruff and sexy as hell, and if he has a past, well, so does she Even , Kai knows how to listen so that Norah feels just a little less alone All the chemistry in the world can t help Norah make her decisions And no sizzle of desire will make Kai believe in happy endings But a little time with someone who understands might just change everything I couldn t get on board with these characters I found the typical broody, uncaring hero really hard to like I actually thought Kia was selfish, rude, and self centered It wasn t just an act He just didn t like him He also didn t really seem to like Norah all that much He seemed to be bothered by her presence And Norah oh Norah seems to take it all AND continue to chase after him All while she is pregnant with another man s baby A man that doesn and where ever she could get it She BEGS Kia for attention I don t know but as a woman I don t like it when the heroine has to BEG the hero for attention I find a big difference between FIGHTING for a relationship and BEGGING for attention from a man And while she is chasing this hero , she is pregnant And she doesn t even know what she wants to do with the baby Um How about rather than chase after a man that seems to WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU, you focus on getting your life together She acts like an immature, spoiled brat throughout most of this book I didn t like her at all I was happy with her decision because I thought her daughter was better off with a family that actually cared.Rating 2 out of 5 I received an ARC from Tasty Book Tours Netgalley in exchange for a honest review OTHER really tough choice with her baby, one that seems to be the right one for her I loved that she didn t let being pregnant stop her from crushing on Kai, or even pursing him I had to laugh at the way that Norah pursued Kai, he wasn t sure what to do about her and the way that she was upfront and even blunt with him It took a while for Norah to break through the walls that Kai had, but once she did they were great together, Kai coming out of the self imposed shell Of course Kai screwed things up, but he was able to fix it, with a little help from his mom.And speaking of Kai s mom, she was a hoot I loved how she treated Kai, how she welcomed Norah and became great friends with her But the best was when she let both kids know that Mom s always know what is going on, no matter how old they are since been released I will start with the elephant in the room This is a story that may not resonate with some as it deals with pregnancy and the decisions that need to be made when someone is not ready to be a mother While this can make a very deep and controversial storyline, it is somewhat glossed over in the story in favor of the romance aspect This may be hard to digest for some as the story does not dig too far beneath the surface on this topic In my opinion this is a shame as it would have offered unlimited emotional directions to the story For the romance aspect it does deliver Two people who are drawn together by an instant attraction but a million reasons to stay apart This part of the story was good as the connection is instant and obvious There is also a little bit of humour mixed in with Kai s mother The physical chemistry is also evident Where I struggled is how Norah was so eager to explore this aspect so soon after going through what she did I felt like she did not learn anything from her previous mistakes and was all to eager to jump in to what could have been her next mistake without thinking of the consequences This left her feeling a little bit immature in my mind Others may not think so At the end of the day I am torn in my opinion I really liked the romance aspect of the story yet I felt the emotional aspect was under developed I will have to stay on the fence on this one Under your skin Oh my gosh I loved this Norah is pregnant with the father being MIA and she doesnt know if she even wants to keep it What Norah does know is that she needs a cant wait to read the rest of her books Under Your Skinis not my cup of tea Nothing stood out and called for my attention at all, in fact the whole novel seemed rather bland It seemed like the author was the heroine s love interest Um, no Not only was he reluctant to love Norah but it seemed that he was reluctant to love any human being considering how he left his sister to take care of his mom He also seemed to emirate anger and resentment Seriously, is he made out of it Then we have Norah Sigh I don t even know what to say about this hot mess It seemed that theinfuriating Kai became, theNorah wanted to dress to impress and catch his eye But it besides the fact that Kai was a total ass, it was a bit strange because she was pregnant I understand that her hormones are going wacky but she literally just met him She seemed to be counting down until she gives birth and moves on with her life It just seems like she wasn t invested in the baby or the outcome in the end view spoiler finding because it definitely shows that the baby is better off. There was also the fact that the whole matter view spoiler of the adoption hide spoiler near the end of novel just left a bad taste This is not because of the matter but due to the fact that Nora seemed to lack any emotion over the whole situation There was a point where she did seem like she would have some emotions but nope Then there was the ending that felt like it ended so randomly, it was like here you go view spoiler they get back together hide spoiler , now the end The dialogue was also weird but at this point I just think that I come up with much besides that the O Malley s have an amazing sense of humor and connection that it is what helped me get through the book AND despite me seriously disliking the characters and the story line of this book, the author hit on some serious points about adoption and depression that mother s feel after they have birth and even giving up the baby for adoption So, I am not going to criticize or denigrate this book because it could have had great potential I am only going to say one thing This book feltlike a young adult with a dash of sex because of how the characters acted and talked Kai was 30 and it was never truly stated how old Norah was, but guessing, she s around 24 She acted like her life was over since she was pregnant and all she really wanted was to jump into bed with Kai Don t get me wrong Kai was all sorts of hot but it was basically her mission wear down Kai There sbut you ll see what I mean if you decide to read the book Normally I would not mention this but the cover is misleading and kind of confusing once I read the book.Overall, it was not that great to keep my attention nor wanting to continue to the next book Although, Sean on a motorcycle is kind of tempting Always a sucker for those motorcycles.I was gifted a copy of this book from the JeepDiva in exchange for an honest review The opinions and ratings are solely my own 4.5 StarsNorah O doesn t seem all that promising until the handsome Kai Ellis makes her an offer she can t refuse Kai Ellis can t handle living under the same roof as his mother, but she has no where to go after having knee surgery Hiring someone to care for her seems a great idea, but having Norah O Malley in his house could prove dangerous, especially when he s so attracted to her Can he finally overcome his past to have a relationship with someone Or will his troubled past always haunt him I always like discovering new to me authors, and this first book in a new series for Ms Schroeder has me looking forward to readingof her books, and most especiallyof this series Right from the beginning, this book was entertaining, fast paced and captivated my undivided attention by what the heroine is going through She s so young to be having a baby, and it isn t easy for her because her overprotective brothers. The dialogue was intense due to the main characters back stories, the decision Norah has to make about her baby s future, and what s holding Kai back from pursuing a long term relationship with Norah It isn t easy for him to overcome his past, especially when he feels indebted to a mate of his Moreover, I liked the playful banter between the hero and heroine Certainly, Norah keeps Kai on his toes She s relentless in her mischievousness to flirt with the hero, and get him to let his guard down because she finds him interesting and worth getting to know Both the main characters had compelling back stories, and it made them the interesting hero and heroine that they were Norah has always felt separate from her family, and it was palpable why she felt that way after what they did to her so soon after her mother died They let her down when she needed them most She s also strong, brave and faces a tough decision on deciding what s best for her baby Can she raise the little one on her own Or will she give her baby to a couple that will be able to provide a better life for her She faces a lot of pressure from her family, but in the end, it was her decision Did she make the right one Honestly, it was hard not to shed a tear for the heroine. While Kai, he s done well for himself to overcome his past, even though he s still dealing with it He s hard working, kind and caring and would do anything for his family, even though he loves living on his own and having his mother living under his roof is a nightmare he could do without I could understand why Kai was loyal to his friends, but it seemed like one of his friends kept continuing to drag him down with the guy s desire not to change his criminal ways So, I liked the decision Kai made about the guy in the end Nicely detailed sex scenes spice up the story, even though it takes a while for Kai and Norah to finally consummate their relationship because of Norah s pregnancy However, once there s nothing holding either of them back, their relationship spills onto the pages and does justice to this couple s intense chemistry, which is there from the moment they meet The moment where Norah feels an instant attraction, although Kai was surly and did his best to steer her away.Overall, Ms Schroeder has penned a wonderful novel in this first book of her For Your Love series where the secondary characters especially Kai s mother entertained me almost as much as the main characters The growing friendship between Kai s mother and Norah is sweet, and I liked that Norah won over his mother almost immediately, because it seemed she s not a woman that s easily pleased when it comes to people in the hero s life The way this story ended was satisfying, as Kai makes every effort to prove to Norah that he wants her in his life I would recommend Under Your Skin by Shannyn Schroeder, if you enjoy a story that encompasses remarkable characters, well written dialogue and a storyline that will keep you flipping the pages quickly to see how the couple s relationship will progress This review has decisions to make, to start with, telling her baby s father that she is pregnant, dealing with her family and deciding if its keeping the baby or giving it up for adoption is the best option Needing a break from all of her thoughts, she decides to take lunch to her brother Tommy, she meets his ice cold boss Kai Ellis and boy Does he not seem happy to see her or help her find a job Kai Ellis is an ex con whom started his own tattoo shop and after a long road he has made it a success, but the only way he has managed to do that is by compartmentalizing his life, business, friends and family, and none of them may cross It has been the only way he has been able to function but that is all coming to an end, when his mother has to move in with him after her knee replacement surgery Despite his best efforts to get her to go into rehab, now she is driving him crazy But when Kai remembers that Tommy s pregnant sister is looking for a job, it seems like the perfect fit Slowly Kai and Norah s relationship turns from strictly business toKai helps Norah talk through her problems, takes her to the hospital give birth and then their relationship truly turns on its head when they kiss But when Kai freaks out and breaks up with Norah it seems to be the end for these two or is it I will be honest This book will rip out your heart and you will never be the same again I don t think I have ever fellempathy for the female lead as I do in this book First he mother dies, abandoned by her family at least that s how she feels when she is 12, Then she is pregnant by a guy she is scared to tell Her brothers and Father are less than supportive and now she has to decide what is best for her child Add to that meeting a guy who lights her up and he has as much warmth as an iceberg I mean come on You have to love her Now when it comes to the other characters, well you can t help but love them But I have to admit that I m struggling to like Norah s father and brother Kevin But maybe in the next book On to the basics the writing and the plot were smooth, brilliant and gripping and I honestly could not get enough of the story The author has taken a story with such complexity and made it such a heartbreaking and heartwarming story all in one I give Under Your Skin 5 stars
